Kyrgyzstan, also known by the name of Kyrgyz Republic is a country located in Asia. Kyrgyzstan is one of the six independent Turkic states and bordered by Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, Tajikistan to the southwest and People’s Republic of China to the east. The territory of Kyrgyzstan covers an area of 77, 181 square miles, and has a total population of 5,482,200.
The country contributes to the famous trade route known as “Silk Road”, which connects China to the Mediterranean. The famous “Issyk-Kul Lake” is also located in Kyrgyzstan which serves as a tourist destination for lot of tourists each year from around the world.
Capital
The capital of Kyrgyzstan is Bishkek. is the largest city of the country The country was earlier a part of USSR i.e. Soviet Union, but after the split of 1991 it became a separate entity and since then is known by the Kyrgyz Republic or more commonly Kyrgyzstan.
Language
The major languages spoken in Kyrgyzstan are Russian & Kyrgyz, although their national language is Kyrgyz.
Religion
80% of the population is Muslim, 17% follow Russian Orthodoxy and 3% other religions.

The currency of Kyrgyzstan is the Som, which replaced the Soviet ruble on May 10, 1993. Its ISO 4217 currency code is KGS. It is subdivided into 100 tyiyn

Climate
The temperature touches up to -6 degrees during winters and is quite pleasant in summers not exceeding +30 degrees.
